How To Book

Booking your safari with Safari Travel Plus is simple and flexible:

90 Days or More Before Your Safari: Secure your booking with a 35% deposit.

45 Days Before Your Safari: If you paid 35% earlier, a further 15% deposit (making a total of 50%) will be required.

Within 45 Days of Your Safari: A 50% deposit secures your booking.

Balance Payment: The remaining 50% is payable upon arrival, before your safari begins.

Day 1 – Arrival in Chyulu Hills

  • Fly Nairobi Wilson → Chyulu Hills airstrip.
  • Transfer to ol Donyo Lodge with a short game drive en route.
  • Settle into your suite (each with rooftop star-bed).
  • Afternoon activity: short guided walk or horseback safari with a tracker.
  • Sundowner: Scenic lookout over the savannah with Mt. Kilimanjaro (weather permitting), cocktails served. Dinner at lodge → optional sleep-out on your private star-bed.

Day 2 – Exploring the Chyulus

  • Morning game drive or guided walk in the lava fields and grassy plains. Elephant sightings common near the waterholes.
  • Midday at leisure – enjoy the photo hide or your plunge pool.
  • Afternoon: conservation talk or cycle ride for the adventurous.
  • Sundowner: Lantern-lit bush setup near a lava cone ridge.
  • Dinner paired with South African wines.

Day 3 – Bush Adventure & Starry Night

  • Morning: horseback or game drive following lion tracks (ol Donyo offers both).
  • Optional cultural visit to a nearby Maasai homestead.
  • Afternoon: relaxed game drive to a scenic viewpoint.
  • Signature Sundowner: Champagne & canapés as the sun sets over Amboseli & Kilimanjaro.
  • Return to lodge → tonight, sleep outdoors on the star-bed platform.

Day 4 – Transfer to Loisaba Conservancy (Laikipia)

  • Breakfast, then charter flight from Chyulu → Loisaba Conservancy.
  • Arrive at Loisaba Star Beds.
  • Lunch overlooking the valley.
  • Afternoon game drive in this conservancy famous for lion, elephant, and wild dogs.
  • Sundowner: On a kopje with panoramic Laikipia views
Dinner, then retreat to your handcrafted four-poster bed rolled onto the open deck under the stars.

Day 5 – Loisaba Adventures

  • Morning: choose between camel trekking, horse riding, or classic game drive.
  • Midday rest at camp.
  • Afternoon: guided walk with Samburu trackers to learn about local traditions.
  • Sundowner: Wilderness setup with gin & tonics, fire-orange skies, and Samburu storytelling.
  • Dinner and star-bed sleepout under the Milky Way.

Day 6 – Flight to Masai Mara (Angama)

  • Early breakfast, short game drive en route to Loisaba airstrip.
  • Flight Loisaba → Masai Mara (via Nairobi Wilson if scheduled).
  • Transfer to Angama Mara, perched on the Oloololo Escarpment.
  • Afternoon game drive on the Mara Triangle plains.
  • Sundowner: Back at the lodge’s Sundowner Boma, with Maasai dance and storytelling by the fire.

Day 7 – Full Day in the Mara

  • Early morning: optional balloon safari (add-on) ending with bush champagne breakfast.
  • Full-day game drive with picnic lunch in the park.
  • Late afternoon: return toward the escarpment → pause for a sundowner overlooking the Mara River.
  • Dinner at Angama.

Day 8 – Mara Wildlife & Escarpment Magic
