Booking your safari with Safari Travel Plus is simple and flexible:

90 Days or More Before Your Safari: Secure your booking with a 35% deposit.

45 Days Before Your Safari: If you paid 35% earlier, a further 15% deposit (making a total of 50%) will be required.

Within 45 Days of Your Safari: A 50% deposit secures your booking.

Balance Payment: The remaining 50% is payable upon arrival, before your safari begins.

DAYS 1-3

Touch down in Nairobi to a modern city alive with markets, traffic, traders and the hustle and bustle of everyday life in Africa. From Jomo Kenyatta International Airport you will be driven by private transfer by our Travel representative to Hemingways Nairobi.

Overlooking the world-famous Ngong Hills, Hemingways is a luxurious boutique hotel where you will check into the Blixen Suite, named after Karen Blixen, the author of Out of Africa. The golden era of safaris past echoes in the classic architecture, elegant rooms and personalised butler service, which will see to your every need, from early morning wake-up calls to personal shopping excursions.

Hemingways Nairobi’s enviable location in the upscale neighbourhood of Karen (also named after Blixen) allows you access to Nairobi National Park – probably the only national park in a city in the world and a great place to photograph wild giraffes in juxtaposition with skyscrapers. You can also spend a day feeding and learning more about the globe’s largest ruminants at the Nairobi Giraffe Centre, appreciating the rescue work of the Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage or finding out more about Blixen herself at the Karen Blixen Museum.

Once you return to Hemingways after a day out, settle into the spa and wellness centre for revitalizing treatments, and then enjoy award-winning cuisine created by the Michelin-starred chef

DAYS 4-7 Savour life at Angama Mara

This morning you are flown by chartered flight to Angama Mara’s private airstrip. ‘Angama’ is a Swahili word that means ‘to be suspended in mid-air’, which is an appropriate name for your accommodation here: very spacious tents that seem to float above the escarpment below. Each of the 30 tents (divided into two camps on two kopjes) has 10m / 33ft wide glass front window that leads onto a private deck, allowing you unimpeded views of the acacia-dotted landscape of the Rift Valley – not to mention the dawn hot-air balloons that drift past.

One morning, you will be on one of those balloons, enjoying the exhilarating sensation of floating above herds of elephants, pods of hippos or dazzles of zebra. Angama Mara lies in the Mara Triangle, an area famed for the river crossings of hundreds of thousands of wildebeest during the Great Migration, which you may be lucky enough to witness between August and October.
