Day 1: Nairobi to the Mara | First Safari, First Sundowner

Your adventure begins at Wilson Airport, where you board a short scenic flight across the Great Rift Valley into the Masai Mara. On arrival, your guide transfers you to your chosen camp.
  • Budget Stay: A comfortable tented camp near the Mara Triangle. Think simple but welcoming tents, warm hospitality, and a focus on the wilderness.
  • Mid-Range Stay: &Beyond Kichwa Tembo Tented Camp, set against the Oloololo Escarpment. Spacious tents, manicured lawns, and a swimming pool add comfort to your safari.
  • Luxury Stay: Mahali Mzuri, Sir Richard Branson’s award-winning camp in Olare Motorogi Conservancy. Only twelve designer tents, with private decks, infinity pool, and gourmet dining.
After lunch and a short rest, the afternoon safari begins. Wildlife encounters happen quickly—elephants grazing, prides of lions on the move, and giraffes standing tall in the light. As the day softens, your guide finds the perfect spot for a sundowner ritual.
  • Budget travelers enjoy a relaxed drinks setup at a scenic viewpoint.
  • Guests at Kichwa Tembo are whisked up the Oloololo Escarpment for cocktails overlooking the Mara plains.
  • At Mahali Mzuri, sundowners come with champagne and canapés in a private, secluded location.
Return to camp for dinner: hearty and communal at budget level, elegant and lantern-lit at Kichwa Tembo, or fine dining paired with wines at Mahali Mzuri.

Day 2: Full-Day Safari Magic

An early start takes you into the wilderness at first light. Lions may still be hunting, cheetahs begin their search for prey, and the savannah stirs to life. Breakfast options vary:
  • A picnic breakfast in the bush at budget level,
  • A full bush breakfast with &Beyond’s signature style at Kichwa Tembo,
  • Or a gourmet setup with fresh juices and pastries arranged in the wild at Mahali Mzuri.
Return to camp in late morning for some leisure time—swimming, spa treatments, or simply soaking up the view. In the afternoon, you head out again for a game drive. By sunset, your guide chooses another scenic location for sundowners. At all levels, this moment of sipping drinks against the colors of dusk is the heartbeat of the itinerary. Dinner is served on return:
  • Around a campfire at budget lodges,
  • Under lanterns with a mix of buffet and plated meals at Kichwa Tembo,
  • Or a multi-course wine-paired dinner at Mahali Mzuri.

Day 3: Farewell Drive & Flight Back to Nairobi

On your last morning, you can rise early for a short farewell drive—or, if you wish, upgrade to a hot-air balloon safari at dawn. Floating above the plains as the sun rises is an unforgettable finale, followed by a champagne bush breakfast. Return to camp for a final breakfast before your transfer to the airstrip. By midday, you are back in Nairobi, carrying three days of Mara magic with you.
