Booking your safari with Safari Travel Plus is simple and flexible:

90 Days or More Before Your Safari: Secure your booking with a 35% deposit.

45 Days Before Your Safari: If you paid 35% earlier, a further 15% deposit (making a total of 50%) will be required.

Within 45 Days of Your Safari: A 50% deposit secures your booking.

Balance Payment: The remaining 50% is payable upon arrival, before your safari begins.

Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi – Market Tour & Welcome Dinner

  • Stay: Stylish Airbnb with kitchen in Karen or Lavington.
  • Experience:
    • Afternoon visit to a bustling local market or City Market.
    • Shop for indigenous vegetables, grains, and spices with a local chef.
    • Evening: Hands-on cooking session and welcome dinner (e.g. mukimo, kunde, githeri, ugali, chapati). To be accampanied with other westernized meals like rice with chicken, beef stew etc.

Day 2: Nairobi – Traditional Cooking Class & Local Prep

  • Morning: Guided cooking class focused on local dishes.
  • Afternoon: Optional visit to Karen Blixen museum.
  • Evening: Rest and prep for safari journey.

Day 3: Travel to Maasai Mara or Amboseli – Begin Safari

  • Transfer: Fly or drive to Maasai Mara / Amboseli.
  • Stay: Mobile bush camp or eco-camp with private bush chef.
  • Evening: Sunset game drive + introduction to open fire Maasai cooking.

Day 4–6: Bush Safari & Cooking Immersion

  • Activities:
    • Game drives with time to unwind and cook between.
    • Cooking experiences with Maasai chef: nyama chomaugalikachumbari.
    • Fire-making demonstration and food preservation techniques (smoking, drying).

Day 7: Transit to the Coast via Nairobi (if from Mara) or Direct from Amboseli

  • Option B (From Amboseli):
    • Transfer to Emali/Mtito Andei station.
    • Scenic train to Mombasa/Diani through Tsavo.

Day 8–13: Swahili Coast Culinary & Cultural Immersion (Mombasa or Diani)

Stay: Swahili-style beach Airbnb or boutique hotel with kitchen.

Day 8: Arrival & Beach Rest

  • Light Swahili dinner (biryani ya samakiviazi vya rojo).

Day 9: Spice Market & Swahili Cooking Class

  • Visit Old Town Mombasa or Ukunda Market.
