Governors’ Camp
Governors Safari
Governors’ Camp has a peaceful setting in the forest along the Mara riverbanks, in the northern Masai Mara. A Governors Safari combines a traditional kenya safari feel with a touch of luxury. Being unfenced, it’s common to see hippos grazing on the lawns, while crocodiles bask in the river below.
The Masai Mara is a unique area with a constant flow of wildlife throughout the year. From July to October the Mara becomes a backdrop for the great migration of thousands of wildebeest in their journey to find better grazing and water.
Governors’ Camp offers a perfect setting in which to witness the migration, as well as spotting other wildlife that hunts and resides in the surrounding area.
The guides are knowledgeable and you have the choice of 3 game drives per day, as well as guided bush walks. Hot-air balloon safaris are well worth the extra expense; consider floating in the quiet dawn above the Mara plains, ending with a delicious champagne breakfast in the middle of nowhere.
Governors’ Camp is a superior safari camp situated in the northern Masai Mara, and is a great choice if you are on a Kenya Masai Mara Safari.
