The Kisite-Mpunguti Marine National Park is situated on the southern coast of Kenya near Shimoni. This park, covering an area of four small islands surrounded by coral reef, has some of the best snorkelling in Kenya (which is to say it is utterly spectacular).
Marine life is abundant, with approximately 250 types of fish, including Moray eel, Parrotfish, Pufferfish, Green Sea and Hawksbill Turtle, and Dolphins. Humpback whales and whalesharks are seasonal.
The park can only be reached by boat, or dhow and this journey takes about one-and-a-half hours from Shimoni.
