Fugitives’ Drift Lodge
Fugitives’ Drift Lodge is set on a hillside above the Buffalo River Gorge, and has been designed to complement its natural surroundings.
Here you can enjoy meals and accommodation surrounded by Zulu War memorabilia. Attentive, well-informed staff are on hand to ensure that visitors leave with a thorough understanding of this region, its people and their history.
The Buffalo River offers excellent fishing, while the diverse birdlife is abundant. Zebra, giraffe and a variety of antelope have recently been reintroduced.
Other battlefields are within easy reach of Fugitives’ Drift, for example, the Memorial of the Prince Imperial is close by, as is the Talana Museum. The Rourke’s Drift Arts and Crafts Centre offers unique items and could be well worth a visit.
