Little Makalolo
Little Makalolo is the independently run ‘sister’ camp to Makalolo Plains and is located in Zimbabwe’s Hwange National Park.
Little Makalolo is located amongst teak trees and overlooks a waterhole and pan that is about 100m from the camp. A hide in front of the camp gives great game viewing opportunities at the waterhole.
Keeping close to nature, Little Makalolo’s tents are built on the ground, as is the dining room and lounge area which is situated under one large tent. There is also a refreshing pool in the camp, to cool off in between safari activities.
At Little Makalolo, your game viewing starts on your doorstep. Game drives in 4×4 Land Rovers and walks with an armed guide are all part of the experience.
Summer sees the large antelope herds migrate onto the open grasslands in the area, closely followed by their predators. You can sit at a waterhole and watch the passing parade of animals as they come to quench their thirst. Birdlife is also abundant in the area.
