Mara Intrepids Camp
Amidst the Masai Mara National Reserve alongside the Talek River flowing lazily by and crocodiles basking on the riverbanks coupled with hippos wallowing in the waters is the Mara Intrepids Camp.
Mara Intrepids Club recreates the romance and charm of the old safari experience. Early in the morning, before morning game drives, you wake to tea and coffee served in your tent. During the day you can venture out on game drives or relax on a sun-bed around the swimming pool.
The safari experience at Mara Intrepids Club is a unique game-viewing adventure. It includes 3 daily game drives with experienced guides and educational outings with the Adventurers’ Club accompanied by the camp’s resident naturalist. Cultural trips to neighbouring Maasai villages – where Mara supports several community development projects – can also be arranged for you.
Just a short drive from the Mara River, between July and August you can spot wildebeest and zebra as they make their dangerous annual migration, while for the rest of the year the camp offers some of the world’s finest game viewing including all the Big Cats, elephant, rhino, buffalo and more.
The 30 newly renovated tents are spread across a large riverside site to ensure complete privacy. Recently refurbished, the tents are large and spacious with their own private verandas so you can enjoy infinite views of the Mara. The interiors are a picture of old world elegance and furnished in the classic style of gran African safaris with large four-poster beds, fine wooden furniture and modern en suite bathrooms complete with flushing toilets and electricity. The spacious family tents are a true home away from home – underneath canvas, they are lovingly decorated in African ethnic pieces and afford a spacious lounge as well as an outside deck overlooking the plains.
The main area of the camp features a swimming pool and sunbathing terrace as well as a bar and dining areas nestled underneath groves of acacia and fig trees. If you fancy heading out to explore, the camp’s knowledgeable guides will take you on an epic Masai Mara safari adventure on foot or by open-sided 4WD. Photographic safaris are also available, while kids are sure to be entertained with an adventure safari.
