The Jock of the Bushveld Concession is located in the southern part of Kruger National Park, where the Mitomeni and Biyamiti rivers meet. The luxurious Jock Safari Lodge is situated exactly at the confluence of the two rivers, overlooking it from a swimming pool.
Jock Safari Lodge and the Jock of the Bushveld concession are named after the dog Jock, canine companion of South African author Sir James Percy FitzPatrick. His classic book, Jock of the Bushveld, recounts Fitzpatrick’s remarkable travels in the bushveld with the brave and loyal Jock during the 1880s. It has been translated into many languages and remains a favourite among South African readers.
