Named after the local king who once ruled this area, Mabula is a private game reserve on the ‘Springbok Flats’, as locals call this area, which comprises mixed bush and grassland.
Mabula is home to the ‘Big Five’ as well as a wide range of other species, including zebra, warthog, hippopotamus, giraffe and no less than twenty-three antelope species. The reserve also boasts a wide range of bird life, and Mabula is renowned for its white rhino.
Skilled guides accompany guests on 4×4 game drives. Visitors can also book night drives and learn more about the secretive ways of Mabula’s nocturnal creatures.
Accommodation in Mabula Game Reserve is in upmarket, thatched en-suite chalets and time-share units. Mabula has excellent bar and restaurant facilities as well as three fully-equipped conference rooms. Besides relaxing at the swimming pool guests can also go on accompanied walks and horse trails.
