8 Day Kruger Drakensberg Safari
Arrival
Pickup form the airport and accommodation can be arranged before your tour begins(Not included in this itinerary).
Day 1 – Johannesburg – Kruger Safari
Pickup from your hotel or accommodation after an early breakfast and head east to Kruger national park. Steeped in legend and history, the iconic Kruger National Park in South Africa is waiting for you to explore its vast landscapes and spectacular African wildlife.
You spend the rest of the day on a game drive.
Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2 – Kruger Park – Swaziland
After breakfast we head to Bulembu in Swaziland. Nestled at the foot of Mount Emlembe, Swaziland’s highest mountain, Bulembu Country Lodge lies at the foot of Mount Emlembe, the highest mountain in Swaziland. We arrive early we can do afternoon hiking. Dinner and Overnight in Bulembu, Swaziland.
Day 3 – Bulembu To Rorke’s Drift
After and early morning breakfast we set off to Rorke’s Drift. We will meet our guide who will introduce you to the History of the Blood River Battlefields. Battle of Blood River, also called Battle of Ncome River, (December 16, 1838), battle between the Zulu and the Voortrekker Boers in South Africa.
Day 4 – Rorke’s Drift – Drakensberg
In the morning before we set off, we will do a half day tour of Rorke’s Drift again, and we will head to Estcourt for our Journey of Drakensberg Tour hiking. Overnight in Estcourt camp trail. We will meet with our qualified mountains guide to give us a program for the next day.
Day 5 – Ukhahlamba – Drakensberg Park
Mafadi is the highest peak in South Africa with a height of 3,446.1 metres (11,306 ft) but is lower than Thabana Ntlenyana, the highest peak in Lesotho.
Start your hiking in Mafadi. Injisuthi Tented Camp, gear up and head for the trail. This is a longish day to the summit of the Little Berg. Comfortable camping. In Zulu Mafadi mountain is known as the ‘satisfied dog’, which probably goes a long way to describe the way one feels when finally on the summit. Overnight on the mountain.

Day 6 Ukhahlamba – Drakensberg
Mafadi Mountain hiking camp. Camping to the summit of the escarpment: Going up and up via Judge Pass. Reaching the escarpment’s summit is always a big day. You’ll be ascending about 1000m in only about 3km. Hard work on steep terrain. What is to come from your hard work will be worth every ounce of effort. Overnight on The Mountain.

Day 7 – Ukhahlamba – Drakensberg Park
Mafadi Summit: Going up some more to South Africa’s highest point – 3456m above sea level. Once you’re there just settle down for a moment and take it all in. You’ll have the province of KwaZulu-Natal at your feet and the Mountain Kingdom all around you. The scenery simply leaves you breathless and inspired.
Day 8 – Drakensberg – Durban
Tighten those shoe laces and warm your quads, because we’re heading down, down and some more down. It’s going to be long and steep, so we’re using all day to get ourselves off the mountain. We will arrive at the base and transferred to Durban Airport or Durban Hotel where the tour ends, Guests will continue with their onward journey.
